The world is on fire and it is raining copiously. Reality becomes concrete and nature is a force that cannot be mastered but that we need to treat humbly. The fight for democracy and human rights is taking a step back in various directions. The flow of news is brutal.
A twisted blackened branch had to become a pen stand and yellow ordinary pens as tags that you could write on the notes and put up on the tree. The green vegetation that is included in the work was a kind of thought that we can turn development around for the better. I was looking for a fallen tree that had the characteristic twisted wood that trees growing on islands get. I blackened the tree with a burner. It turned a beautiful jet black and smelled of fire.
Around the tree I built a rough table and four stools. So that you could sit down for a while to think and write down a thought.

In this case, there was a place and my ambition was to capture reflections in time to listen to what others say. The Tree was a place where you could express what felt urgent at the time. Maybe someone answered. You could be strengthened by the fact that others shared your feelings.

The tree also refers to the Eastern tradition of writing wishes and attaching them to trees at temples. Yoko Ono makes an ongoing installation in different countries where she plants a tree that belongs in the local vegetation and make it to a wish tree.
